When Carmen was 3 years old, Mrs. Labonté could not bare the thought of living without her. She knew that she was very lucky to still have Carmen. The problem was when she had to leave her alone in the house by necessity Carmen would shake and have panic attacks. This made Mrs. Labonté decide to look for another Chihuahua.
One day she met the owner of a pet store, who was aware of the situation. She told Mrs. Labonté that she had a beautiful little Yorshire with a very good personality. She proposed to put the two of them together and see what happens.
Carmen who usually barks at all dogs, was intrigued by the puppy. Carmen roamed around Maya and than(then) finally laid down beside her.
When Mrs. Labonté saw Maya’s face, it was love at first sight.
When Maya’s owner saw her leave, she was saddened, but knew she was in good hands.
Mrs(.) Labonté says it was one of the best move of her life. Carmen was very happy she had to take care of a little puppy.
Mrs(.) Labonté had been cooking for Carmen for three years because Carmen would not eat dog food. Surprisingly she started eating Maya’s food and they created a game. Carmen would only eat if the puppy wanted to steal her food , than she would have a little bark that meant go away I am eating. Every meal was the same and they both enjoyed it.
Carmen started to walk in the park with the puppy and finally became a real dog.
They have been both teaching each other all kinds of things.
Carmen accepted Maya as her assistant director of the quality control of her pet steps.
They are now partners, proudly showing off the quality of their pet steps.
For the last five years the three of them share a unique relationship, hoping it will last forever.
